Problems Viewing Xbox Account

I just got Sea of Thieves, but to play it and add friends, I need to change my privacy settings on my Xbox Account. I'm trying to go to account.xbox.com but every time I try to enter I either get a "HTTP Error 400," or the site automatically goes to: support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4026796/microsoft-account-change-childs-xbox-privacy-online-safety-settings

I don't have a child's account, so I don't see the issue. Can anybody help me access the page to change the settings?

You should be able to find your Xbox settings here https://account.xbox.com/en-us/Settings/Home/

Go to the redirected page and login using your Xbox credentials. Then you can click on your name in the top right corner and select "My Microsoft Account" and access your account information.

I can log into Microsoft, but I can't change my privacy settings there for Xbox.

You may want to make sure your not in a Family somewhere as a child account.

You can check that by going to account.microsoft.com/family

That page will tell you if you are part of a family or in your own family and if you are an adult or child in the family.

Have you tried a different web browser?

You can also make the changes if you have a Xbox one console directly from the console itself.

To change privacy and safety settings for your account

Sign in to your Xbox.
Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide, then go to
System > Settings > Account.
Under Privacy & online safety, select Xbox Live privacy.
Choose a default, or customize your settings by selecting View details & customize.

Hello Viper,

Thanks for coming to the forums with your issue. When you log into Xbox.com and go to privacy settings does it tell you need an adult to change these? If so you will need to

add yourself to a family with an adult and then that profile change your settings. Remember on Xbox.com the birthdate you used is set in stone so when you made the account, if now that birthdate is still under 18, you have a child account.
