Problems to register/connect EA games

Hi. XBox 360. I have bought second hand discs of EA Battlefield Bad Company 2 & Battlefield 3 for my son. I do not understand how these things work, but neither game will connect to Live Gold in order to play online in multiplayer (the only reason why I
bought them) Please help - I'm tearing my hair out with frustration!

EA-servers

I was able to play some club matches yesterday, but today the same problems as OP came back. again, unable to connect to the EA-servers. WHY EA??? I wanna play games!!

Need for speed servers

My xbox locks up completely when it tries to connect to EA servers for THE RUN.it works fine offline, and my other games work fine on xbox live. Is EA having problems?

Thanks for responding. I've since discovered that with Battlefield 3 i did not receive the second Multiplayer/coop disk. Although I am informed that I have successfully activated my online pass, it goes on to prompt me to install HD content from the coop
disk and will not allow multiplaying without it. Does this mean i have to buy the 2nd disk from somewhere? On the other hand, I have managed to access the multiplayer function on Bad Co 2 but can only access the quick match option. There's no option to search
servers for other games/maps like one can with the PC format of the game. Is this correct?

A little more information may be required to help troubleshoot, but let's start with the fact that you bought them second hand.

In my experience, EA games for 360 usually require a code to play online.

If the code has been used before by another account, it cannot be used again (completely destroying the game's resale value.)

This was, unfortunately, true with many AAA games for 360.

Basically, you have no other option than to buy the games new/unopened if you want to play online, and resalers often know this.

If this is, indeed, the issue, and you bought them from an actual game store, I'd attempt to return them, along with my strong opinion of their shady service.

Don't hate on granny selling old games that her grandson donated to her garage sale, though. She had no idea.

did anybody get this to fix? I have tried registering for an EA gamertag and all and i can't get past the quick connect part. It keeps asking me to register and then doesn't connect??????? any ideas
