Problems starting Sea of thieves on PC (Xbox live)

Thank you. I do not have gold but I read somewhere that I should not need it?

I do not even have an Xbox, just Steam and then I used my Microsoft account to get in to the game. But then there is this message and Ican not get it...

The code at the end is supposed to make it easier to troubleshoot. When I looked up "avocadobeard" I found people saying that it was because they don't have XBL Gold. Do you have an active Gold subscription? I have played SoT through Game Pass but that
includes Gold. I don't know if Gold is supposed to be required to play the Steam version.

I also had a problem when I first started because my son's Xbox account was configured not to allow any online multiplayer, as a parental-control thing. I had to go to the online dashboard and reconfigure his account to allow it. Are you using a restricted
child account?

I have the same problem but i am not playing on Xbox but on pc and sea of thieves changes the language to german.

this is on PC.

I only noticed it in Sea of Thieves.

It started immediately when I started playing this game.

I changed the in-game chat settings, watched YouTube videos, went into Xbox settings trying to find something there to solve the problem, tried reinstalling the games, but unfortunately, nothing helped.

The random assigned name could be the result of you not being logged in to your XBOX Live account. So, could you verify that:

• You actually are logged in to your Microsoft account on the PC?
• You actually are logged in to the XBOX app on your PC?
• Sea of Thieves is actually using that account? Or do you still have to sign in in Sea of Thieves?

If you have to answer all these questions with 'yes' and the problem isn't resolved, I would suggest checking your gamertag, as Kirill already suggested.
