    Problems Casting To Xbox One


    My laptop is about 4 years old and I have an Xbox One S that's about 1 year old. I'm looking to use the Wireless Display app to cast my laptop display onto my Xbox One but it's not recognising it as a display.

    It comes up in settings as an 'Other Device' I've tried removing it and re-adding it but it won't find it as a 'Wireless Display'. Can anyone help me so I can figure out what I'm doing wrong please?

    I managed to activate the Xbox One Console Companion through my laptop and connect to my Xbox One that way however I can't get the display of my laptop to mirror on the Xbox. It just doesn't come up as an option to add it as a wireless display, there's no
    problems with the range or anything, both are on very fast broadband and within 4 feet of each other.. my laptop even picks up my neighbours tv as a wireless display.

    The problem seems to be with either the laptop not being able to find the Xbox through the casting function or the Xbox not wanting to be found but I've enabled the settings correctly on the Xbox, I'm not sure where to proceed from here.

    I can't connect local cast app with my Xbox one

    They are referring to the Local Cast app for Android. I am also having this problem not only woth local cast but any app that has the casting ability. Netflix, youtube, etc... are no longer seeing the xbox one on the cast to device list like it used to.
    Was there an update that removed this feature of casting directly to the xbox??

    I’ve tried that - numerous times -but no luck.

    I managed to stream my Xbox to my Laptop using the companion app just not the other way around.
