Problem with Wired Networking when using the Expansion Drive Issue

I have exactly the same problem with my Seagate 2tb expansion drive. It seems that there is an issue with this brand of drives. Has anybody found a solution to this problem.

I am using an original Xbox One

I am using a Seagate 1TB external hard drive.

I have not seen any error codes while updating the store, nor have I had any network issues as I’m using a Wired connection that doesn’t have issues when this occurs.

The problem above happens when you have the storage expansion pack or external usb drive plugged in.

It happens every time on my console and unfortunately if you have the power save option turned off for remote play you can only use it once.

As any restart gets you back to no connectivity.

It is very easily reproduced and If I unplug the expansion drive the problem disappears.

I hope this helps as you can workaround the issue if you don't use remote play by making sure power option is to turn console completely off. But if you like me want to use remote features then you are stuck.

If youve already tried using a different ethernet cable and other devices work with the same ethernet jack on your router then your xboxs ethernet port could be shorted out. If so youll want to either setup a repair for your xbox or if your xbox is a slim
use wireless instead. However if your xbox is one of the original phat models then im afraid they dont do repairs on those anymore at which point your only option would be to use a wireless connection using on of the xbox 360 wireless adapters. Hope this helps

Having the same issue. tried reseting the console and now when i try and connect to a network (wired or wireless) it gives me a notification saying that I have a wireless network hardware problem.
