    there are certain instances with controllers that this happens, for the certain controller your using, you might either have to get another, or just deal with this issue

    Problem with controller

    Hello everyone. I'm french, so excuse my english which may not be perfect.

    Friday I just got my Xbox. I came back home and tried to install it, but immediately i get a problem. The screen "freezed" on an image of the controller, and then nothing happend for half an hour.

    After several hours of web searching, someone suggest me to plug the controller with a wire directly to the console. But now, 2 days later, i still can't use my controller wireless. It need to be constantly plugged :/

    Has someone experienced the same problem than me? What should i do? I don't want to send back my Xbox because I'm not sure I will get a new one soon ^^

    Try your local game shop and see if they do repairs for things like that!

    Four Channel,

    In my experience, I've had a lot of people have issues with controllers where buttons would not be completely "functional" to where not all buttons would move. And in SOME instances, when they would charge or change the batteries, it would work again. I'm
    not saying this is the problem, i'm simply saying he should eliminate ALL possibilities before looking into a replacement/defect controller.

    Trust me, I worked at Gamestop for many years, and now I have seen it a lot of times.

    But you also do have a good point Four Channel, to where it may be a defect, but we just want to once again eliminate all possibitlites. I'm not trying to say you're wrong, because your not. :) Just wanna make sure we check everything out, and charging was
    one of the troubleshooting that has solved an issue like this with many people I haev assisted in the past.
