Problem with settings tab in guide when installing games of apps

while you have the TV app going you hit start and there should be a settings tab at the top of the little menu with 3 more other tabs including one guide... dont open the one guide just hit start when your in the TV app.

Could you confirm if the gaming services app is currently installed by going to Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features > search "Gaming" on the search tab. If you couldn't find the gaming services app, it's not yet installed.

Also if your console is set to instant-on it should automatically install but like daft said if it doesn't it will be in the ready to install section of the my games and apps tab.

This is stupid, cant do anything, cant launch a game or any apps, trying to launch the guide button to get to my setting tab, but the guide wont appear nothing works, unplugged everything, hard reset doesnt work!

I tried using a different TV and I'm now starting to narrow down the problem.

I took my old Xbox One X and plugged it into a different tv. Everything was connected to the Xbox except for the ethernet cable.

I tried "My games & apps" and it worked. Of course I can't update my games but the screen stayed on.

Next I shut down the Xbox and plugged in an ethernet cable (hooked up to my router). I tried the "My games & apps" and the same problem happened (black screen in a few seconds).

So I went back to my new Xbox and I played with the network connections and here is what I found:

If I start my Xbox, go off-line (settings/General/Network settings), press on the "My games & apps" icon, the screen is fine. I can then go into "Updates" and then select "To check for updates, connect to Xbox Live" which brings me to the settings screen
for "Go online." I go online, click and B button (back) and I still inside the "My games & apps" which is good.

Groups tab - good

Updates tab - good

Queue tab - good

Gold tab - bad It says "GOLD When you install Games with Gold, you'll see them here. Deals are waiting."

Memberships - bad It says "To see your memberships, connect to Xbox Live"

Both the Gold and Memberships tab did not update after I went back online.

When I go to settings/account/subscriptions everything is fine. So I'm guessing that the Gold tab listing "Ready to install" is hosed up.

My long list of ready to install games is corrupt and causing "My games & apps" to break and the screen to go to black.

Also, the option of "Manage game & add-ons" when selecting a game use to cause the same problem (screen in four seconds going to black), but now when I go off-line and then back online, the screen is normal without a black screen.

In my opinion there is something in the list of ready to install games, either the list or the icons for the list that causes a crash within the system.

Now if Microsoft would admit the problem and fix it... that would be great!
