Problem With Nether Portal and I Don’t Know Why

OH I KNOW! how i fixed my problem i had a friend go into the nether and break all the portals in the nether so when we used the new one it spawned at the right place =D hope that helps =D

Once you build a nether portal, and go to the nether, there should be nether fortresses in the nether , lol you have to find them though

That's a problem, 4J said on twitter that they'll make every nether on every map have a nether fortress, nether warts and blazes. Right now some maps don't have anything I just said but may have something else (like a end portal)

The block ratio is 3 to 1. I played around with it for a few hours last night and figured out the issue. My portal in the Nether from my original portal in the overworld was what the game used every time I went into the Nether. When I tried to go back, it
couldn't find a portal in range as my portal in the overworld that was too far away. So it respawned one in the original spawn point. After figuring out the cooridinates of the portal I wanted to use. I divided it by 3 and found that coordinate in the Nether
and built a new portal there. It brought me back through the overworld portal that I wanted. I then proceeded to destroy the old portals on both worlds to get rid of them, extended my minecart track to the new portal in the nether and was set to go.

For others interested in how the math works. My overworld X and Z coordinates on the map were -345 and 97 respectively. So dividing by 3 you got -115 and 32 on the map in the nether. if you build a portal within the range, of 35 blocks either way, it will
place you where you want to be. You can also build a portal in nether far away from your original portal and it will spawn you back in the overworld at a new location presumably far away from your current one. We did this and it put us half way across the
map.
