Problem With My 2 TB external hard drive

I have a 2 TB WD my passport x external hard drive. It doesn't matter what USB port i connect it to it doesn't seem to want to work properly. My console read that it can see my hard drive but its connection is too weak. Because if this i am unable to access
the storage in my games nor install games to it. However i was allowed to uninstall games from it because it read enough to know what games had previously been installed to it. My question is what do i need to do to fix this problem so that i can use it again?

that or just buy an external hard drive. Example I have a 2 TB hard drive attached to my xbox one and on top of that I have replace my Internal Xbox Hard drive with a 1 TB Hard drive.

Those are the 2 options you can do if you don't want to delete anything.

I have two separate 2 TB external hard drives, for a total of 4 TB of extra storage. I haven't had any issues with either drive.

Do you have your External hard drive powered via a power supply, or only directly via USB?

Ya know, mine was working fine just before the last update, then had this happen as well. Didn't really look into it, but now that I see I'm not the only one; I guess I should press on and troubleshoot it a bit more.
