problem with external disk

YOu can have to problems there. 1 with the external disk and other with CoD.

First, can you play other games on your external disk?

Secound, have you tried to install the COD on the Xbox internal disk?

Unfortunatly i do not know of any official ways to do this.

normally connecting a usb formatted for xbox to a pc, it will not show up or it will ask you to format the device to enable a connection to it.

You can find third party apps which offer this feature, but i cannot endorse them as they may not be secure nor legitimate.

Before you try to format the device, please try these 2 following steps;

1) Please try connecting to the other USB 3 socket on the back of your console.

2) Ensure the USB 3 cable is not causing the problem. If it connects to a Computer and stays connected, that is not the issue.

If neither of the previous suggestions help you, I would suggest tranfering the games that you are currently playing to your main console rather than creating a back up of the disk. Any issues present on the hard drive will be copied back onto the device

thanks for responding as soon as possible, I already did all that and the same thing keeps happening, format the xbox and the same thing keeps happening. Now, how do I make a backup of the disk on my pc, to be able to format and not download the games again?

Same problem for me. First of all I though the it is because I install on an external disk (SSD) but as I read, and as it is allowed by xBox PC app, we can install on any destination (including external disk).

Hope that MS will solve the problem asap.
