    Problem with billing address


    So I have been trying to get my free games with gold and also trying to buy some backwards compatible Xbox 360 games on my Xbox One. When I try either one it says that "This purchasing channel requires a billing account. Please add a valid payment instrument."

    I have two seperate cards on my account that have both been used to buy other things in the marketplace and pay for my subscription. Also when I try to change my billing address it says I am in United States and I can't change it (I am in Canada). My account
    says Canada and has my address so how do I fix this?

    Hello!

    I want to buy MS points, but in the address details it shows USA and I live in Canada - it's not clear to me why my account chooses USA, but it's grayed out and I can't change it.

    Is there any place where I can change my account's country to Canada? I opened it just a short while ago and was already living in Canada (and BTW never lived in the US anyway...) - I didn't see any way to choose a country when opening the account, so I
    suppose this is some default setting or whatever?

    I suppose I can just put some bad address there but what's the point, right?

    Thanks guys, I opened a new user. It's a shame though that this can't be changed, sounds simple enough.

    Hello AbdullahXbox, the region of your account, your payment methods and your billing address has to be the same, if you are in the UK then everyone has to belong to the UK.

    Hi there Player! That shouldn't cause an issue. It sounds like the account you're trying to register has its region set to the USA. Is this a new account you're trying to create, or an old one? If you're trying to create a new account, you may want to
    restart the process and make sure you do not set it to be a US account. If you're trying to update an old account, then you will need to contact support over the phone/chat to discuss changing the region.

    (Also as a final note, you do not need to have a new account for your repaired console. You can just use the Download Profile option on the Sign In screen and download your own account!)
