Problem with an update Error Code: 0x80070070 0x00000000 0x90140005 Anybody encountered this before. I’ve done a factory reset but that seem now to give me less options as I can only try again, check network or turn off console. Network is connected & fine. Reset several times with no luck.

Im the same. Deleted cache nothing. Reset xbox hoping for a fix but once I turned it on im at the option to update or switch off.

The home button does nothing, I'm unable to go anywhere.

That can be the issue as well but with the error code that you have now, it is related to the network connection. We can try performing an offline update.

"To use the Offline System Update, you'll need:

A Windows-based PC with an Internet connection and a USB port

A USB flash drive with a minimum 6 GB of space formatted as NTFS"

Did not solve the problem as connection is fine. Believe it to be a storage issue but after a factory reset i don't be able to be given the option to change settings of the Xbox.

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

This is related to the network connection. Please perform an extended powercycle and reset your network hardware by following the steps below:

1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

I'm sorry to hear that the issue could not be resolved. These types of errors can appear before, during, or after the start of a system update. Generally, these errors are network or caching issues. Try the following:

Check your network connection. Press the Xbox button  to open the guide and select Profile & system > Settings > General > Network settings (known outages will appear under Current network status). Select Test network connection.

If the connection test is successful, continue to the next step.

If the connection test is not successful, see Troubleshooting your Xbox network connection for help troubleshooting your connection. Then try installing the system update again. If it still doesn't work, continue to the next step.

Power cycle your console. Press and hold the Xbox button  on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. When the console is off, unplug the power cord and wait 30 seconds. Then plug the console back in and turn it on by pressing the Xbox  button. Once the console restarts, try installing the system update again.
