    Problem with actual Skip Ahead Build and external HDD 8HDD not SSD)


    So, with the actual Skip Ahead Build i have/had a strange issue.

    3 Times after booting my Console all Games that i have installed on external HDD where gone. The HDD worked, the HDD was full but, games wont show up.

    after 30min/45min the games showed up.



    that happend now 2 or 3 times.

    Rise of the Tomb Raider only starts with DLC installed, if console is switched offline.

    If anyone is interested, we managed to find that the problem only occurs if the game is installed on an external ssd.

    If the game is moved from the ssd to the internal hdd the problem does not occur. Formating the ssd and moving the game back did not fix the problem. Other games launch fine from the external ssd.

    The problem seems to be linked to (external?) ssds and (Rise of the Tomb Raider?) DLCs.

    Okay please read the whole paragraph before reply, this issue is very funky and specific.

    Today, July 15, New Xbox Preview Alpha Skip Ahead update fixes the issue with transfer content to external HDD. Hope this is finally what we’re waitinf for to answer our dilemma.

    can I use an external SSD on my xb1?

    No problem. If you decide to go that way please post back with your results. I personally use an external HDD (Not SSD) and it works great.

    you are able to use SSDs - yes, I am still on a traditional external HDD, but various people as i've seen in youtube see a better performance by a few seconds using an external SSD
