Problem with account region

Okay so I wasn't entirely sure where to chuck this but here is my problem:

I made this account a few years ago, as an Australian account.

For whatever reason, it now seems to think that the account is American.

I've made many purchases in the past, and now all of a sudden whenever I try to make a purchase of something like a game, or Xbox Live Gold, I can't. My credit card is valid, has money on it, and I use it every day for other online purchases, but whenever I
try to use it on the Xbox One, it says that (without any reason) "Please choose a different payment option. The current one will not work for this purchase."

So, I decided to try purchasing games and gold on the website. However, whenever I add my credit card as a payment option, the only option I have for states are American states. Is this whole problem because the system has my account registered as American?

As I can get no real error messages telling me what the problem is, I'd really appreciate a response. This whole thing has been rather confusing.

P.S. I definitely signed the account up as Australian, because I accidentally made my previous one American, and this account is a result of me rectifying this error by making a new account. I've been able to make purchases on this account in the past, however
when I switched to Xbox One is around when the problems began to occur.

Switching Account Region with problem

Its not you are supposed to read the warnings and contracts you sign including the migration tool

This is a tool meant for people who move not take advantage of offers you arent supposed to

Maybe you should start taking what you read seriously

The migration tool is not a joke nor is it a toy to be abused or temporary moves

You forfeit anyregion locked content you purchased in the othrr region

Switching Account Region with problem

My account was switched to Japan but unable to switch back! It is because I cannot download game from marketplace with location error! Please help to switch my account back to Hong Kong!

Can you head to settings to check and make sure that your console is not set up for the US?

so you need to promote your account using account management

if it is available

if not you must wait till your gamertag turns 18 or make another account in the correct region

please read the warnings before you use the region migration tool as they are important

Well, if the game developer used content not licensed for your region, the game can't be played there. And, since Romania is not a region where Xbox 360 console gaming is supported as per
http://www.xbox.com/Live/Countries I don't have any solution for you. I wish I had information on when that might happen, but I and the other volunteers who provide gamer-to-gamer DIY support
here don't have that information available.

Try signing in to commerce.microsoft.com. You will see your region billing account. That means that's your account region which you have added your billing address. You can also try contacting
chat or phone support to confirm the account region.

In order for everything to work properly, all things must be in the same region.

Your console's set region when you set it up, as well as your account info, and your billing info, all must match the region you actually live in.

If you have accidentally set something wrong in the set up process, you will need to call your local support number, as these are settings that can't be altered by you from your end once they are set in the first place.
