Problem with account balance on Xbox 360

That is strange. So long as your region is listed on this page https://www.xbox.com/en-US/regions where Xbox Live is supported the balance should also work.

With regards to region change, if you have recently changed region and it is not past the 3 months period yet then the migration will not work. If all else is correct and match, the next thing I can suggest is to try contacting the Xbox support team in order to further check your account status to see what might be causing this. You may reach them here https://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us

On the page, click on "Contact us" > Subscriptions & billing > I can't redeem a code > Type in "Support" then there you should see option to message or request a callback from the Xbox team. The option I provided here is diferent, this is just a way to easily find the option to reach the Xbox support.

Just to confirm, you are using an Xbox 360 console as well to buy an Xbox 360 game correct? Because the Microsoft credit can only be used to buy 360 games on an Xbox 360 console.

Before anything else, try checking via https://account.microsoft.com/billing/payments page first to see if your Microsoft balance is showing correctly. The currency and the region of your account should also be matched as it might not show if your account region is on a different country.

You can check your Xbox account region via https://account.xbox.com/en-gb/Settings/Home by clicking on the "360 account region" but note! It will take 3 months at least to change your region again if ever you attempt to change it today.

If you have logged in on your 360 console but the balance is still not showing, I suggest to try removing and adding your profile from the console.

Here’s how you can remove any Xbox profile from your Xbox 360 console:

1. Go to Settings and select System.

2. Select Storage.

Note If you don’t connect any external storage devices to your console, select Hard Drive. If you do use external storage, select All Devices.

3. Select Profiles.

4. Select the Xbox profile that you want to delete.

5. Select Delete.

6. Select one of the following:

Delete Profile Only – This deletes the Xbox profile but leaves saved games and achievements.

I tried deleting my profile and re-downloading it on the 360 console but it still won't show the balance.

I also checked about the region of the balance and the account and it matches. The gift card says it's European so I assume it works on all European countries supported by Xbox. The currency also matches. Now, when I went to see my account region, I couldn't find a button to see my current region, only one to change it. I went ahead to change it to my own region just in case it wasn't already, and I was presented with the error "There’s a problem completing your move right now. Please check the Region Change Support Page to make sure it will work for you and try again later."

I hope there are other suggestions you or others can make to fix this problem, but still, thank you for your help.

Additionally, the xbox live account was created less than 3 months ago. the microsoft account is older. Does the creation of the account count as changing the region? Even if it is I'm pretty sure I entered the correct region
