Problem understanding pricing in Microsoft Store

I just did a quick comparison because I plan to buy the new Forza Horizon 4 Ultimate Edition.

If I set my store to Italy, I find that the game costs 99.99 €. (that is 112.- CHF)

If I set my store to USA, I find that the game costs 99.99 $. (that is 96.- CHF)

If I set my store to Liechtenstein, I find that the game costs 103.- CHF

If I set my store to Switzerland, I find that the game costs 119.- CHF

Now. I just can not understand how there could be such a big difference for the same game by changing only the region...

As far as Microsoftstore.com pricing goes, reaching out to Microsoft Store Support will be the best route to take in regards to pricing on products. The Xbox Forum team does not have any visibility on Microsoft Store offers and promotions. Hope this helps!

Unfortunately we are unable to modify or alter pricing. Do you see the same price available on the Microsoft Store website?

 

USA prices don't show tax until the point of purchase that is why it seems so cheap. Most other regions include the tax in the advertised prices on the store.

You also shouldn't be changing region to purchase games cheaper as that is against terms of use

 

Prices are also largely set by the publishers who set them to MSRP, the same as physical disc prices. Different things like taxes and cost for them to send out the games, gets added in the pricing. So games can cost more in other regions based on that.

Prices differ according to different regions, due to factors like current exchange rates and laws in differing countries, VAT, other tax, etc. Regrettably, this cannot be avoided.
