    When inserting the seagate ssd storage expansion card into the back of my xbox series s i received the following message: "Reinsert your storage expansion card. We see the card, but the connection is too weak to use. If this keeps happening, contact xbox.com support." Error code 0x80820014.

    In a single evening I've seen this message twice. Also when playing skyrim from the external seagate card I suddenly had the sound in the game disappear. Also the game went from loading quickly to loading very slowly as if i was playing the game on an old hard drive. I reloaded the game several times and eventually it played as normal again. A bit confused as to what's happening. Do external expansion cards like to play up? I'm a bit disappointed to be honest and will probably contact seagate themselves. Has anyone else had problems? Please let me know so we can find a solution!

    I do have two storage devices, one is a 1TB Series X/S Expansion Card and the other is an older hard drive which is a Seagate Hard Drive

    You have two options with the Series X, either the official expansion card which adds 1TB extra storage, and you can run your Series X Enhanced games directly from it (link below):

    Or you can run a USB External hard drive, but you will need to copy your Series X Enhanced games from that to your internal SSD before being able to play. This is the cheaper solution if your happy to copy the games back and forth as you wish, other wise
    it's the official Seagate expansion card.

    Xbox Series X|S games can only be installed on the console's internal storage or the external Seagate SSD card. Link here. External drives are too slow for those games. The external hard drive can only be used to install backward compatible games (Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One).
