Problem playing video from certain drives

    Problem playing video from certain drives


    xbox one original using media player.

    I have two external hdds. Both were loaded up with mp4 videos and all played fine. I added more to one hdd but they would not play. So I copied them to the other hdd and they play fine. All of the original videos still play, just not the new ones I added.

    Why would cause them to play on one hdd but not the other? I have even tried using vlc app and the new ones still won't play on the one drive.

    Keep getting error 0xc00d11cd (0x80070001).

    Tried looking it up but all I can find is Zune errors.

    Playing video from an external drive.

    Please Microsoft start working on an app or update or Something so we can play videos from external hard drives and USBs, all in one entertainment system is kind of a lie especially when this was possible on the 360 how are you seriously removing options
    for entertainment, really?

    No, there's no way to transfer video files to the Xbox 360 hard drive. The best way to play your video files is by putting them onto a USB drive and playing them from the built in video player.

    I should also note that I do not believe the drive is corrupt as the videos work on other computers

    No, there's no way to transfer video files to the Xbox 360 hard drive. The best way to play your video files is by putting them onto a USB drive and playing them from the built in video player.

    You cannot upload videos onto your Xbox 360's HDD. You can only stream from a Flash Drive, Buy/Download from the Xbox Live Store, and Stream via Network from a PC.

    If you are doing the flash drive route it must be FAT32 formatted and video files must be a certain codec including AVI.

    Play To disappearing

    The only problem with using the Media Player is that my videos are on two separate hard drives. I have them separated into folders using letters of the alphabet for each folder and the N-Z folders are all symlinked from the Video folder to their locations
    on the second drive. The Media Player won't see the symlinks at all so I can't access half my video library from the Media Player. I can play them from Play To, however it'll drop out from time to time, usually if I reboot the media server and the Xbox is
    still on. It's annoying.

    When i first connected it to the xbox I set it to media only. It plays other videos fine but there are some that won't play from the external drive when it's connected to the xbox. If I connect it to my PC the videos play fine. Also when I copy the
    video to a smaller flash drive it plays.
