Problem loading dashboard on startup

To anyone still having this issue, I have finally found a work around that is easy and works every time. It is not a fix, but I think it's the best were going to get.

If when you sign in (auto sign-in or manual, it doesn't matter) the dashboard does not load and the spinning symbol just keeps on spinnin', follow these simple steps:

1. Press silver button to bring up guide menu.

2. Hold the right trigger and press Y.

3. That's it, you're done! What it does is refresh/ reload your dashboard.

Has worked every time for me and for others I know with this problem, so I have no doubts it will work for anyone with this specific issue.

Why xbox support could not just tell us this months ago I have no idea.

OK My bad please remove post. I didn't realize there is no center channel present in the dashboard but once the game loads all 7 channels are receiving audio. I should have tested it with a game first but thought no center channel audio on startup was a
problem with overall audio for all applications.

I like the rest aside from the gamerpics. If you want custom gamerpics, get that old Xbox camera and use that to take something. Otherwise, the rest of these are good tips.

One tip I'd like to add, is that the next dashboard that they release for the 360, should be smaller and not take as much time to load up like previous ones. The original dashboard loaded up nearly right away from what I remember, the new dashboards slow
the startup even more imo.

It seems that your Xbox is still in Instant-On mode as it starts up on your dashboard. If you changed to Energy-Saving mode, the change may not have taken affect as in energy saving mode the Xbox will do a full boot up whenever you startup the Xbox and see
the green loading animation.

When you restart or shut down the Xbox through the settings, you are forcing your Xbox to do a full reboot and not be on Instant-On mode which is simply a low power or sleep mode when the Xbox is off and that allows a quicker startup straight to the dashboard.
Turning off the Xbox with the power button in Instant-On mode will just cause the Xbox to go into the low power mode and startup without the green loading screen.

Go back into your power settings as mentioned by Brad above and make sure energy-saving is selected in the middle column drop-down box. Then hold down the power button on the Xbox for about 10 seconds until the Xbox shuts down. Restart the Xbox. It will
do the full reboot with the green screen. Once on the dashboard, turn off the Xbox with the controller or by pressing the power button on the console and see if the startup reboots from the green loading screen.
