Probably a silly question...

I owned both Red Dead Redemption and the Undead Add-on pack (both retail disc versions) when i owned a Xbox 360, I just gone online (via a pc) to download them both but it wants to charge me £6 to download the game. I though if i previously owned the games
i wouldn't have to pay for them again?

got a card good for a years subscription for Live, since I currently have Live through 2013 and auto renewal on,

if I add the card will it add on to extend it to 2014....???

Gold time stacks. You can add up to 36 months of Live at a time. So yes, you could add it now and extend your gold for another year.

 

If you own the disc, just put it in the console. Only digital copies of games are tied to your account.

 

Oh ok, I did have the disc but sold my 360 when i got the One which obviously the game was sold with it, i didnt realise you had to purchase a ''digital version'' to be able to play the backwards compatible version.

Slightly unfair i feel.

 

Like I said, you can use the disc. It's not really unfair at all if you think about it. If Microsoft allowed you to tie discs to your account, no one would make any money and digital games would not be a thing. It's currently on sale for gold members at
a good price. I'd get that if I were you.

 

It kind of is unfair, over my 7 years of owning an xbox 360 i spent over £4k on games. But because 'these' were not digital versions i've now got to pay all-over again? I think that is slightly unfair.

 

And you never installed your disc games to the 360 hdd?

 

I did yes but i sold my x360 when i got the One.

 

When you install 360 disc games on the One, you are installing a compatible One version of them, which is what is being downloaded. They still require the disc to play, however.
