Privacy settings help?

Hello! I was wondering if there was an occuring problem that adult accounts for some reason could not view other people's profile or add people as friends. My account is an adult account (I checked) and I'm not in any Microsoft families. It could just be
that the mobile app that I am trying to access it on is not allowing it? but the it was working the last time I checked, maybe a few weeks ago. I also have gone on my account and checked all the privacy settings to allow access to everything on xbox one, but
it didnt seem to have changed anything. Any help provided would be appreciated!

(Also, if anyone has an answer to this, I tried logging into my account on IOS minecraft so my newphew could play with his friend while we were on a trip but a popup just said that privacy settings did not allow multiplayer and I couldnt find any settings
that said to change this)

Do you have a child account or adult account? If you are an adult account change the settings on both https://account.microsoft.com/
under privacy also on Xbox | Games and Entertainment on All Your Devices click on name at top go to xbox settings then select privacy and online safety

This thread is old, and the Original Poster may have found a solution to their problem. That being said, forums work better when you have your own thread which will allow you to mark a response as answer.

In terms of this problem. To change privacy settings, please:

1. Go to: Sign in to your Microsoft account,
   
2. Click onto Profile,
3. Select Privacy Settings
4. Sign into your Microsoft Account again, and complete security challenge if it asks you to,
   
5. You will now be presented with a page Privacy and Online Safety,
6. and change away
