Privacy settings aren’t updating

”You cannot see content other people make because of how your account is set up. To change this, customize your Xbox privacy settings in Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety.“ I got this now with a few games that i wanted to play with a friend. But i cant join anyone. I have all my settings on or unfiltered and have tried resetting the whole thing twice now. Nothing seems to work and i can’t enjoy games.

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

Kindly sign in to https://account.xbox.com/settings and from there make sure that the following settings are set to "allow" or "everyone"

You can see and upload community creations

You can communicate outside of Xbox Live with voice & text

Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites

You can play with people outside of Xbox Live

You can create and join clubs

You can join multiplayer games

Make sure to "submit" them in every tab to ensure that it will detect the changes and then perform a powercycle on the console then try again.

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

Firstly, are you on a child account? (Microsoft automatically assign any account with the age set to below 21 years as a child account). If you're on a child account, you'll need a parent (adult) account in order to change your privacy settings.

The parent account will need to create a family group and add you as a "Member" while they are the "Organiser" in order to change your settings. Here's a detailed explanation of how to do that https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-bil....

Refer to the "Manage settings on Xbox.com" tab, underneath it you'll find how to manage your privacy settings on an Adult or Child account.

Furthermore, check the date of birth on your profile page because only an adult account has the ability to customize profile's privacy and online safety settings:
