    Primary Account Holder Cancelled Game Pass


    Hi there,
    A relative of mine (we'll call them "Person A") recently cancelled his Game Pass subscription. Unfortunately, that also meant that I could no longer access my Game Pass games on my main account or theirs. Since Person A had Game Pass, I gave my Minecraft account to another relative of mine ("Person B") and used Person A's Minecraft account as my main since they don't play Minecraft. When I open the launcher now, rather than showing a "Play" button, as expected it shows "Buy Now". I had my saved data on there and I really don't want to lose it. Now I did consider purchasing Game Pass on my main account which seems like the obvious solution, however, that wouldn't do much for me in a Minecraft sense as all of my saved data is linked to Person A's account rather than mine which already has Person B's account linked to it anyway. I could create a new Microsoft account and subscribe to Game Pass on there but while that would get me a new Minecraft account, it wouldn't have any of my saved data ☹️
    I was wondering whether there was any way I could transfer my Microsoft, XBOX, or Minecraft data to a new account or if I should just try and get Game Pass on his XBOX account or even just purchase Minecraft permanently on his account, but I'm hoping I don't have to resort to that, hence my query. Even if Person A does uncancel their Game Pass subscription it would be nice to have a permanent solution if something like this does happen again or just to have control over my account for the long-term.

    Please note that account sharing is against the Community Standards, it is not allowed.

    You can enable subscription sharing on the same device, only if you are in the same household.

    This can lead to account and hardware suspension.

    That said, it's not possible to transfer contents from one account to another, your game progression will be tied to the "Person A" account since you used it to play.

    To avoid "issues" with the subscription the solution is purchasing the game on that account (A), but, as I have said, it's not allowed if you aren't in the same household.

    It appears that you are not the primary holder for the pass. Make sure you have them do the downloading for the account.

    Hi, you cannot change the primary account holder once it has been set sorry. You would need to cancel your family pack and purchase a new family pack on the profile you want as the primary account.
