Price to high for 12 months gold

The price of Live has increased everywhere. As has the price of playstation's live service.

Technically you're not. Gold and Game Pass are converted into Ultimate based on price, not based on the time. The price for 4 months of Ultimate is the same price as 12 months of gold. If you want to use the full 12 months of just Gold, you would need
to cancel Ultimate or wait for your Ultimate subscription to expire and then add the 12 months.

It would convert to just 4 months of Ultimate. If you want the full 12 months of just Gold, you would have to add the 12 months after your Ultimate completely ends.

The conversion is based on price and not time. 12 months of gold is equal to the price of 4 months of Ultimate.

Microsoft discontinued the 12-month subscriptions for Gold a couple of years ago. Anyone who did not cancel their subscription or upgrade to Ultimate, would be grandfathered into the 12-month subscription. Once cancelled, there is no way to go back to that.

The monthly price for Core will be the same as the currently monthly price for Gold. But again, as the 12 months subscriptions were terminated years ago, there is no equivalent price for that through Xbox.

Since Ultimate includes Gold, when you add a Gold card to Ultimate, it converts the Gold to Ultimate. Since 12 months of Gold is equal in price to 4 months of Ultimate, you get 4 months of Ultimate when you add 12 months. In order to get the full 12 months, you would have to add Gold before purchasing Ultimate.
