price rises for next gen

so whats everybodies take on 2k being the first to raise next gen game prices to $70 and then possibly other companies doing the same eventually.

i did remember a lot of the companies stated games should actually be around the $100 mark and they actually use micro transactions to bring that up as production costs have gone up, but i disagree slightly as game devs are worked into the ground working
60 to 100 hour weeks especially near the games launch.

Makes no difference to me to be honest.I tend to wait to buy games now as they drop in price or go on sale quite quickly nowadays.

It's very rare that i buy a game day one,it has to be something i'm really interested in.

I think the majority of games that'll see a price increase will be from the greedy publishers that churn out similar games yearly like COD,Fifa etc. because they know people will buy them.

I am the same, with GamePass and my backlog that seems to just keep growing, I very rarely buy a game on launch unless its something I really want to play. By the time I do get round to purchasing, its reduced.

Whilst a price increase was inevitable for games, I think by being the first, 2K now need to justify the price increase by delivering a game thats not just another re-release of the previous years release with minor improvements/changes. I expect a game
thats bug free, with no micro transactions and with next-gen graphics. Will this happen? We shall see.

It was expected eventually, but 2K being the first with an NBA game looks bad because they have gambling mechanics already so no need to charge even more for essentially the same game.

I think the price rise was inevitable to be honest as prices have been consistent for a number of years. Seems a bit harsh 2k is the first as their games tend to have a lot of microtransactions - the timing isn't great either with the global situation
as it is. I suspect that a few others will follow suit eventually - but it does highlight the value for money you get with Gamepass Ultimate.
