    Does Microsoft do price adjustments on digital content purchases done on the Microsoft/Xbox store? I have read stories that this is possible with talking to an agent, but I am having difficulty doing this right now.

    I puchased a game on sale last week, (Forza Horizon 4 UE) but the start of this week, a new bundle (Forza Horizon 4 + Forza Horizon 3 UE) went on sale for a really good price. So I want to buy the new bundle, which obviously already includes the game I puchased
    last week. I thought this would be a simple price adjustment, where a customer service rep will walk me through buying the new bundle, then refunding the cost of my purchase from last week.

    But I was advised that I file a refund for my purchase last week, which has already been denied TWICE for the reason that I already played the games (which of course I did since I discovered it in GamePass, and since I enjoyed it, wanted to buy the game
    + DLC in case I want to cancel Game Pass in the future).

    Am I out of luck in this regard? (I have tried Xbox Support but have just been passed back and forth between departments, and going nowhere)

    A digital game is not a physical copy, but if I purchased A last week, and a bundle containing A+B went on sale this week, and if I compare that to the price of buying A+B individually and it turns out that is more expensive than buying the bundle, then
    I should have been covered in this case.

    I have a few issues with their automated refund system. The first time I did it, I was on the phone with someone else, walking me through it and everything. I was told to just put "PRICE DROP" on the note, and they seem to be taking care of it on their end
    while I wait. But then I got disconnected, and I am unable to get back to the agent who was helping me. Later I just got an email saying it was denied, and the reason being was that I played the game already.

    I tried to open another case, while calling another agent. This time around, I was told that everything is documented, I was given a case number, so I can just attach the case number to the comment field when replying to the email for the refund. Once again,
    denied, because I played the game already. It's like they aren't even reading the reason I want the refund.

    This is supposed to be so simple.

    Some agents sounded like they really like to help, but it looks like the support group is fragmented in the way that one department handles one billing, another handles sales, etc, where no one is really empowered to make transactions on their own to help
    the customer. I mean seriously. All I needed is an agent to charge me for the new bundle, while they refund the other game I just purchased last week. Done. Now, I feel like even though one department puts all the comments on the support ticket while I talk
    to one person, the other department that needs to do the actual reversal of transactions or whatever doesn't even read the comments on those tickets.

    This is according to the Microsoft Terms of Service:

    "The Store does not have a price match guarantee. We will not match the advertised price other retailers offer for the same items. However, if we lower our price on a device within 30 days of your purchase, we will
    honor the lower price. If you notice that we have lowered a price on a device you recently purchased, just bring your original sales receipt back to the place of purchase or contact Sales and Support, as applicable, and we’ll gladly issue a refund or credit
    for the difference (if you paid with a credit card, you’ll need to use the same card). You must contact Microsoft within 30 days of the price change to receive the refund or credit. Price reductions/adjustments are not available for clearance items and limited-time
    price reductions associated with promotions and/or special sale events including Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday or Cyber Week."
