I too have the directv hr44-200 and have compression of the video image mostly on backgrounds where there isn't any movement. It will downsize gradient fills down to a few colors instead of a nice blend. Very noticeable on the golden fill that comes out
from behind the ABC logo during their commercials. It will have 6 or 7 distinct rings, each a solid color, around the logo.

It's nice gradual shading going from the hr44 directly to the tv, but as soon as you go from hr44 to the x1 then to the tv, it's back.

I also just notice that the tv video is slightly ahead of the sound, by a few ms, but noticeable enough.

Its my favorite shade of the color green. That other shade was hideous.

Well the new shade is my favorite shade of green but if I had to pick a different color I'd choose grey.

not so much the res.. its the shading. There is not details. I was driving one of the cars, was a solid color, no depth, no shades, no reflections or shadows... was kind of yucky looking but again, it is a beta, they are not looking for advice or complaints
