Prestiging/ challenge reset

Ok so I understand that post patch all challenges reset but camo challenges do not - is this correct and to what extent as I believe the system has flaws.

I noticed that I have diamond camo on my gun (complete all camo challenges) although I still have not completed '200 kills no perks'. I also checked my challenges within the operator category so see if my diamond camo related to this section instead, nope!
I still need 1 more of these challenges also.

Has anyone taken note of what actually happens between attachments, camo's, calling cards and operator challenges once we prestige as im a little dyslexic, this system is the most confusing yet and I keep unlocking things I already have. My head is now hurting

Prestiging Weapons: What's the Point?

I maxed out the Remington last night and looked at the prestige option. Is all you get for prestiging a weapon just a clan tag and challenge reset?

leveling up guns?

Not too sure, but doesn't prestiging just mean you can get the xp from the challenges again? I think asides from some camos there's no real point in prestiging weapons, besides the xp bonus from challenges obviously.

I have had issues with prestige also.

Once you prestige everything gets reset except gun camos and calling cards you have already earned. Any progress you have made towards a calling card is reset though. All attachments for every gun have to be unlocked all over again. It's very upsetting
and annoying. Black Ops 2 was much better for prestige mode than this game. My thought is if you use a permanent unlock for a gun when you prestige your attachments will stay permanent also.

Challenges don't reset, weapon levels don't reset, attachment unlocks don't reset, camos don't reset. No reason to not prestige in this game. 3arc said pre-launch that they intended prestige in this game to be a continuation of the leveling process, not
a grind.

When you prestige for the first time you have prestige challenges added, I think they are 2500 kills with the gun and 500 headshots, they don't reset when you prestige though so you don't have to do them all in one prestige.

OK, so its like MW3 Gear unlocks (acquired during prestiges) but you can eventually reset them and use them for something different? I wouldnt think regular ranking "unlocks" stay after you prestige, except for the prestige "Gear unlocks", but who knows.
I know they said weapon "ranking", camos, and challenges, dont reset with prestige, but Id think stuff you "unlock" during prestige, would have to be done again. But again, Im not sure, because they said there is a TON of stuff to unlock.
