Pre order games for download.

The question is when will this be made available.

I pre order games for the bonus content only. But now that games can be downloaded I have come to hate boxes and disks.

So when will Microsoft add a pre order games section to the marketplace on Xbox One?

It would be really nice if this is implemented before the fall and winter games come out this year.

Did you pre-order the game as a digital download, or the physical disc version?

For digital download pre-orders, the code should be immediately sent to you after you pre-order.

For physical game pre-orders, the code will be included with the actual game at launch date.

There are no announcements on this but if you head over to
http://xbox.uservoice.com you can vote for similar ideas and show Microsoft that you want this feature implemented.

I pre-ordered on the 8th November and I downloaded the game and the Assassins Pack in the pre-ordered state immediately.

Pre orders on the Xbox dashboard are for the digital download version. No disc required. How it works is that if you pre order the game on the dashboard, it will pre download it, then allow you to play it from midnight the day
of release.

Some games come with pre-order bonuses that you can only get if you purchase the game before release. For some people, the ability to pre-download the game (downloading the game in full before its release) is important, especially with big games - it means
that as soon as midnight strikes, the game unlocks and they can play without waiting for a download to complete.

If you do not want to pre-order games and instead want to wait until they are released, feel free to do so. Participation in pre-orders is optional. I personally don't pre-order any games at all.

Unfortunately Microsoft only allows you to pre-order games that have some kind of pre-loading.

Games that aren't in manufacture or close to that point aren't open to pre-orders because the Xbox has nothing to download.

Either it is a fault in the system that Microsoft can't process a pre-order without something being downloaded or they did it on purpose to stop some getting confused why they didn't get anything for their pre-order.
