Pre order billing failed

Don't worry within the next few days you will be billed again.

After a charge to your account fails on a pre-order, there will be another charge attempt a few days later. If this second attempt fails, your pre-order will be canceled and you will need to repurchase the desired game after adding a valid payment option to your account.

To verify that a pre-order was successfully charged and the game was added to your game library, review your order history and look for your proof of purchase.

Per the FAQ - "All pre-orders typically charge customers 10 days before the game release date. This means that you'll need to have a valid payment option on your account at least 10 days before a game release to avoid any billing issues. After a charge on your account has failed for a pre-order, there will be another attempt at a charge a few days later. If that second attempt fails to successfully charge, your pre-order will be canceled, and you'll need to repurchase the desired game again after you have added a valid payment option to your account."

So, no, you cannot pause/delay the payment. If the payment fails after 2 attempts the pre-order is cancelled and you would need to do the purchase again.

It's possible that your pre-order got failed. Please check it on your account order history via https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders. Check if the status of your order says failed or canceled.

Please note that when pre-ordering an item or game from Xbox, you only get charged around 10 days before the release date. So you may have not noticed that the payment was unsuccessful.

Please check your account order history on https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders/ and find your pre-order if it says failed, canceled, or refunded. Please note that the system only tries to charge us for pre-orders if it’s 10 days before the release date. So it’s possible that you were not charged at all.

I understand, Rene. However, on the order history, it is stated that the payment failed that means that Microsoft was not able to get the charge for the pre-ordered game I have here the link for reference:
