Power supply fan loud

its breathing super loud and I think it's broken it has sent moved or anything I just came home from spending the night at a freinds house and I could hear it from the kitchen

Power supply fan noise

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately cleaning the power supply didn't help. The fan still continues to make a loud sound. I went ahead and ordered another power supply since I really didn't have a choice. Hopefully the next one is more durable.

PSU fan very loud when Xbox 1 on.

when my Xbox One is on, the power supply fan has become very loud. This is a new thing, as it is noticeably louder than even a couple of days ago. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I think it may be breaking down. you may have to get a new one. however try to contact support at support.xbox.com

Black Wolf XCI.. If your Power Brick is too hot to touch & you can smell an electrical smell... Unplug it from the wall + XBOX & call XBOX Phone Support for a replacement.. Seeing how it's about 2 years old.. You might have to pay $35 + P&H for a new one..
A faulty or near faulty Power Supply, can cause low voltage to the HDD & console Circuitry... [SATA HDD powered straight from power supply circuit]

The fan on the 360 Slim power supply, can cease with dust & heat up.. You will also hear a loud noise sometimes too...

This issue can also be mistaken for the consoles optical drive or fan being loud...

You should both separate out your components to determine which is "noisy".

DVD drive

If the power supply is in an enclosed space, the fan may spin up a bit if it gets warm. It's gotta be a 40mm or 50mm fan to fit in the housing. Those can be quite loud. People have reported getting power bricks with very loud fans.

The console fan should vary speed depending on CGPU load, though I have yet to hear mine get loud.

The DVD drive's acoustics vary per game. Prior to game installs, I recall Halo and Gears of War games being quite loud. Other games, not so much. Unlike the original game install system, the new copy protection scheme does not spin the DVD drive down right
away, and it has provisions to spin the drive back up at random intervals. There have been reports that it isn't ever spinning down discs (even on older titles), though I haven't experienced this.

I just thought I might mention that one day my power supply was making a pretty loud noise, similar to what you're describing, I noticed it was covered in dust so gave it a good clean and blew around the ventilation area which got it working like new again.

Also if you order through that link and your console is still operational now, you won't be without it while waiting for the replacement.
