    Power cut off during a download PC, File disappeared but still taking up the space


    I started downloading the game ARK: Survival Evolved and the power cut out. Before the download I had about 300gb of space free. After starting the download, I had 74gb free. When I turned my PC on again, after the power cut out, Xbox Store says install game, yet the space is still taken from the initial download. Basically, the game is downloaded, but the file must be corrupted because neither me or my PC can locate the game file. Now I am missing around 200 GB of space. Do I have to wipe my hard drive or what?

    and regarding the re-downloads, no it doesn't take up space again, in fact it stays the same even during the download.

    The Xbox doesn't actually calculate how much space is used vs how much space is free. When you write something to the file system, the Xbox writes to a file telling it, W, X and Y take Z amount of space. If those files somehow become corrupted or removed,
    they disappear, but the file that reports how much space is being used doesn't get updated. Your stuff is gone. If you can't access it or view it, try a different USB cable, or even a different Xbox. If it's still not there, it's not there. Format your drive,
    and be careful what you put on it. If it still continues to act up, don't use your drive.

    Update: The game Crackdown takes up about 6.2 GB out of 6.3 on my 8 GB USB. So I start the download, then I see the message that it can't download Crackdown, because the Crackdown that it is downloading is taking up the space. The thing is, the download
    file jumps from 0mb to 6.2 GB while the actual game is still at 0%. So while the download file is taking up 6.2 GB, I don't have any space for the ACTUAL game. So then I delete the incomplete Crackdown download file and then the whole cycle starts again.
    I'm getting scared. Am I hallucinating or is my Xbox 360 Slim breaking after on 2 days in a row trying to download Crackdown? I think I'm starting to crack down.
