    I plugged my supply into my son's Xbox and it worked and his supply on my does the same thing

    how do you know that the power supply is good? Usually that's a symptom of a failure to "ramp up" after initial boot, which is usually a bad power supply

    if that's the case, then you have a hardware level failure and I'm sorry but the original Xbox one is no longer repaired so you'd have to replace it. You almost certainly got blown capacitors that are not use or serviceable

    Xbox 360 and Xbox one consoles have a surge protection system build into there power supplys and the Xbox one consoles have a cooling fan in there power supplys it could be that you power supply is overheating or has over heated

    If the console is powering itself off randomly, one issue it could be having is with heating. If it over-heats it will shut itself off as a fail safe so your new system doesn't cook and brick.
