Pour one out for me. Xbox is going in for repair.

make that 3.......sending the 3rd one in for repair/replacement. don't trust going back to same store, imagining the whole batch is damaged...... and of course because its raining/pouring xbox's repair service is down......have to call back later.......this
has been a nightmare........

Pouring water into electronics is never a good idea. You would need to try sending it into Microsoft (they still do repairs out if warranty but for a fee) or get a new console.

I won't go into the ins and outs of controller repair, as that's not allowed here. You'll need to go elsewhere for repair help on Xbox hardware.

However, you shouldn't drip or pour isopropyl alcohol inside your controller and certainly not the 70% stuff. If you’re simply cleaning something like adhesive externally off something metal or plastic, 70% would do it, but less pure isopropyl contains water which would contain impurities which could actually damage the circuit board in your your controller. It needs to be 90%, as said before, it should not be dripped in.

i had an issue with the graphics chip going on my xbox one s, it was out of warranty and going to cost over £100 for ms to repair so i complained to tesco who i bought it from and they gave me a partial refund of just about £100 and i kept the console, didnt
have to send it to them or anything they just paid out without actually seeing the console or anything!

So found someone from youtube who did this exact repair for £55 including return postage so go it repaired and sold it after it was repaired.
