    Post Xbox Experience update: Password popup for Blu Ray Player


    Strange that since the NXOE update, I am signed into my XBox and upon inserting a Bluray or DVD disk, I get a password popup. Happens every time, but only when I'm signed in. If I turn on guest access I can play DVDs without any password popup.

    Other apps (Hulu, You Tube, Vudu, ...) seem to recognize the sign-in without trouble (no password popups there). Not sure what's going on with bluray.

    Net result: I need to be signed in to access network entertainment and gains, but need to sign out (or enter my password) to access DVD and blu-ray. Driving my wife crazy!

    Post Xbox Experience update: Password popup for Blu Ray Player

    Because the Blu-ray player is an app, you need to set your "access to content" to unrestricted. You can still have web filtering turned on and "privacy and online safety" set to teen for the kiddos. I'm no expert, but this worked for me.

    Mine only happens with Upload Studio. It is a pain but I just put in my password and move on. I do not know how to fix it.

    I don't need to download an app to use my Blu-ray player and it updates its own firmware.

    It is possible that this is related to the Blu Ray app and the recent updates it has received. I have also been experiencing weird issues with the Blu ray recently and no one at Xbox will acknowledge if there is a known issue with the Blu Ray player.
