Post NXOE update Blu Ray app won't play some discs

Tonight I tried to re-watch an episode of the 2014 Black Sails season 1 on blu ray Which I've previously watched through the Xbox one blue ray app before. Disc 1 would load to the FBI Warning screen and then freeze on a black screen 7 seconds in. I made
sure the disc was clean but got the same result. I reinstalled the blu ray app, same result. I cleared the persistent storage, same result. I did a hard power reset of the Xbox, same result. I set the console to energy save mode and turned off BD live, then
did another hard power rest, same result. Next I tried disc 2 of the series and it played with no problem. One time during the whole process I exited the app and tried to launch it again. I then received the 0x80070102 error code, but searching it turned
up no results.

This is the first blu ray player problem I've had. is this related to the NXOE update or is this the blu ray player problem reported and acknowledged by MS shortly after launch? If I need to set up service for my xbox please let me know asap - as my warranty
is about to run out. Just to note as well, my xbox is well ventilated and has no issues with heating. No kids to bang it around either.

3D playback not working

Xbox One supports 3D Blu-ray discs when played on 3D TVs. Try checking whether there are any updates for The Blu-ray player app

 

Xbox One S will not play UHD Criminal disc

Hi, could you try uninstalling and reinstalling the Blu-Ray app to ensure you have the very latest version. If that doesn't help then it could be a faulty disc.

Others have reported that certain UHD discs simply refuse to play which could be the case, if that's so then I suspect the Blu-Ray app may need a further update at some point.

 

Mine is doing the exact same thing. I have tried every possible "solution" but nothing works. It seems that if Microsoft really wanted the xbox one to be the center of your living room, they would try to address problems like this immediately. I guess I'll
have to borrow my son's blu-ray player to find out what happens to Flint.

 

I took my xb1 in to a local MS store. And tested it right there with the store representative. Same results, disk won't play. I also started to find other disks in my collection that wouldn't play when previously they were fine. The disks would play on
a console they had set up at the MS store though. The rep concluded the blu Ray drive drive laser was fading. How that's possible on a one year old console , I don't know. (Yes I do, MS electing to use cheap parts during manufacturing in order to turn a
higher profit...). So, 4 days out of warranty.....I was hung upside down and roughly $135 was shaken out of my pockets to send the console off and get it serviced.. 2-3 weeks later the refurbished console came back. So far all my disks work that I've tried
with the exception on one, LOTR Fellowship of the Ring Extended edition.; which is basically in mint condition. I'm sure MS put in another crap blu ray drive. If this one starts to fail with more disks I'm done with the xbox.

So my advice to you is get it "fixed" asap if it's still under warranty. It's really a crapshoot sending it off though. If it's out of warranty I'd say f-it and just buy a real blu ray player.

I was having this issue on my brand new Xbox.. After some trial and error I found a solution. I was able to get my blu Ray to play by going in and putting my Xbox offline.

I would like others having the same issue to see if going offline fixes their issues with getting the no disc error..

 

Reatork - Magic. Presto Unplug network cable to play disk worked. Hobit unexpected journey, Crashed my older Xbox One. My Xbox One Hybrid gave me the sign in error (0X80070102) Its not the disk as it was straight out of the wrapper. It appears to be some
kind of online licence check or dynamic content thing on the disks that doesn't work right. I signed in. Updated player, then pulled my cable. Worked on both machines without error.
