Possible to use mic instead of Kinect for commands?

That would be a feature that the game developers would need to implement on their end. If I remember correctly something like that was used in one of the Ghost Recon games for the Xbox 360 a few years back.

everything that I can see kinect doing to make a game more fun can be done with a mic instead they just want to push their product. all voice commands can be done via mic if MS didn't push kinect like they are doing. and motion gaming just isn't fun. it's
annoying at the best of times. the only thing i'd want are voice commands but even then doesn't make me want kinect, just wish people had mic voice commands more than a handful of games.

[/quote]In the 1st instance you would give commands via the Kinect mic - it's what it was built for & it makes sense that it would work similarly to the Kinect on the Xbox 360 in order to make it more familiar to those who have been using the previous generation
of Kinect. To answer the second half of your question, yes you can, but your friends will probably hear you give the command as well.
