hey all I recently bought myself the basic xbox one on my birthday two days ago with my christmas and birthday money combined, anyway I have an xbox 360 that I was using before hand and I have a bunch of disc and digital games for it, I already know how
to play the games on xbox one from disc and how to install the backwards compatible ones from my purchases but I was wondering to save the hassle of having poor internet, can I transfer the xbox 360/xbla game’s installed on my 360’s hard drive to my xbox one
via a usb drive or external hard drive?

Minecraft Xbox One

hi

my son has been playing minecraft, saint row, far cry 4 etc in Xbox 360. is it possible to transfer the games to xbox one? minecraft is an online purchase. rest all the discs we bought from Game.

he doesnt want to upgrade to xbox one but ofcourse we are missing out the new features of xbox one and xbox 360 is getting out dated fast and would value for nothing soon.. ihave few consoles left like that and lying in the garage.. (ps2, xbox, psp etc)..

any advice on transferring the games would be helpful for me to decide on xbox one..

Xbox Live Arcade Games from Xbox 360

I purchased quite a few games from Xbox Live Arcade on my Xbox 360 and would like to know if it is possible to transfer them or re-download them onto my Xbox One.

Hi,

No, unfortunately that isn't possible. The reason for this is that for backwards compatibility to be achieved, Xbox 360 games have to be reverse engineered and then recompiled by the BC team. This is why even when you have a 360 BC game on disc, you still
need to download it from Xbox Live. The 'update' is the game.

If you still have your Xbox 360, you can transfer your save games to the cloud and continue where you left off on your Xbox One. But, games must be downloaded again from Xbox Live.

yeah I didn’t think it would work, I was just curious, because we have poor internet and it even struggles to download a 500mb game

If a friend or family member has faster Internet, you could download any games you own onto an external hard drive using their console.

If they have any games installed on their console that you also own, you can copy them to an external hdd, and they will also work on your console as long as you are either signed into Live or you also own the disc.

Hi, you will need to repurchase any games that you had on Xbox 360 and want to use on Xbox One. This includes retail games, digital copies of retail games and Xbox LIVE Arcade Games, as well as all DLC. Nothing transfers over the consoles.

On games like Call of Duty and Battlefield, I do believe that your stats transfer over from Xbox 360 to Xbox One.

When you play a game installed from a physical disc you need to have the disc inserted to start the game. So for digital, you can insert the disc so would need a digital license. At the moment it is not possible to transfer physical to digital licenses.
