Possible to overwrite cloud save with old local file?

To keep things short, after a particularly bad game crash that resulted in my Series X completely shutting down, my game of WWE2K19 began acting as if I'd never played it... which then seemingly overwrote my local and cloud save files in my attempts to avert disaster.

Luckily, I still have my old Xbox One X with my original save file stored locally from December prior to transferring everything to the Series X.

Out of fear--and conflicting information--I've only accesses this save while offline to avoid any mishaps.

My question is, is there anyway to have the local data on my One X overwrite my clean cloud save in order to get my progress back on the Series X? Would simply launching the game online allow me to choose between the older local save and newer cloud save? Or would the cloud save overwrite the local file immediately?

    :)

    hello there ,

you need to delete the data before you save new data.
But every time I delete my old local save and open a new game offline, and then choose to use the new local save to overwrite the cloud save when I enter the online game, a lot of files will be automatically downloaded from the cloud, and an error will be
    reported in the game.

    Retrieving Cloud Data

If you overwrite your cloud save data I don't think it would be possible to retrieve an old save from the cloud. sorry

Which one do you want to use? Locally saved vs. cloud saved game data?

If you choose the cloud save it is going to pull it down and overwrite the local save.

Did you already overwrite the cloud save with the local save data that you loaded?

    1) Are you asking if its possible to just have your save files on your local Xbox storage instead of the cloud? If so, then yes!

    2) Your Xbox will always "synchronize" with your cloud saves and download them to local storage when you sign into Xbox Live (which is automatic). When your gold membership expires, your Cloud saves are still safely accessible. You will be able to download
them and move them to your local storage. While your account stays non-Gold, however,
you will not be able to overwrite Cloud-saves or create new saves in the cloud. (source)
