Possible to migrate game files?

Hi,

Sea of Thieves, 81gb, was installed on my HDD. Loading took forever so I bought a fancy new NVME SSD as my current SSDs were already full. Upon installing and formatting the drive, I found that there was no (easy) way to migrate the Sea of Thieves game files from my HDD to SSD.

It's very easy on Steam. On the xbox app, when I open the settings of a game and check the files, I should be able to migrate the files to any other drive. It's very disappointing that this simple feature doesn't seem to exist on the xbox app. I read an article saying if I change the default install location, all files will be moved there but that didn't happen.

Please add this feature. Half question, half suggestion, maybe there's something I didn't know about but reinstalling 81gb isn't fun or quick.

Is that supported even when a game "does not support advanced installation and management features"? I also don't see "apps and features" anywhere either. I see my installed games, which are Phoenix Point, Halo, Ori, Outer Worlds and Sea of Thieves. I can't out how to move any of my games from drive to drive.

I don't entirely know what I'm doing but it should be more intuitive.

I am currently 81% finished the download of Sea of Thieves. It paused when my computer fell asleep.

Also, most importantly, how is the "proper way to submit or request this feature ... via the Xbox Insider subreddit" --- Why do I need a Reddit account to contact Microsft, a company worth almost $2,000,000,000,000 and their official support is through Reddit, not their official forums? I only have a few shares in MSFT but this already makes me want to sell them as I don't believe a company can have a future when its entire software support is done through Reddit.

right click start menu and select apps and features at the top, yes you can move all games from the store and xbox app this way as i do it all the time.

take cup head for example, this is a game locked in the windowsapp folder

click the three dots and select move

then choose a drive

if you have the game installed still and the new nvme in the pc ready, go to setting storage and select where to save new content and select the new drive, once done go to apps and features, find sea of thieves select it and select move, then choose the new drive.

Ignore the above as he has it wrong. I move games from Drive to Drive all the time, mixture of HDD 's and NVME storage.

Yes, sorry to say but unfortunately the ability to recognize already installed games or games transferred is not available right now on the Xbox app :c

You may need to reinstall the game in this case. And also, the proper way to submit or request this feature is via the Xbox insider subreddit:

Unfortunately not,, game files, games, dlc's or subscriptions can't be tranfered to any other account it is not possible as this elements are encrypted to the original account and can' be migrated we are really sorry sir.
