    Possible ALLM & VRR Issue


    Hey all,

    I have a quick question and hopefully someone has an answer or possible solution.

    I just upgraded my LG 65OLEDC8 to the new 65OLEDC9 that supports ALLM & VRR. My issue is with my Xbox one x the options in the settings to activate each feature are greyed out.

    The weird thing is when I play HDR games, the ALLM feature works. As soon as the game starts to launch, the regula preset I use switches to HDR game mode. This is great but...

    The other weird thing and issue is ALLM doesn't work with any SDR game. It doesn't switch & stays on my normal tv preset.

    Any one have any info on this. I'm striking out searching the web.

    Reported through the console as well.

    How do I find the motion enhancement/anti judder option in my TV?

    Lol... Thanks but they don't know. It seems that when I disable VRR and ALLM from the TVs settings, it automatically unlocks the motion enhancement options. But if I enable VRR and/or ALLM either from my Xbox or the TV itself, then the motion enhancement setting disappears.

    Isn't VRR supposed to unlock higher frame rates?

    This is really confusing 🤣

    Well, the LG page of that particular model makes no mention of VRR which would usually indicate it is not a feature:

    Edit: I have been looking around and none of the other NANO95 models have VRR either...the have ALLM (Auto low Latency Mode), not VRR

    Hello,

    VRR is supported via HDMI 2.1. The Xbox One X is the only console that has HDMI 2.1. Xbox One S has HDMI 2.0. This Fall 2020 the new Xbox Series X will also support HDMI 2.1 features like VRR, Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and up to 120fps support.

    My TV has the latest firmware and the amplifier is in the same room. A transceiver will cause ALLM and VRR not to work which is why I don't connect the Xbox One X to the amplifier because it doesn't pass them through to the TV. That is why I connect directly to the TV.

    LG C1 and series X clarity settings grayed out.

    But mate then its not possible to play games with HDR10 if you use the game optimiser? that doesnt make much sense :( Like why would u not be able to use the full fucntions together, hdr vrr allm 4k 120hz as the tv and console says it has. Game like red dead redemption was made with hdr - so it wont also be possible to do that? or does the TV automatically register the game as HDR ready and then applies on its own? im so lost. Just want the full performance out of my gaming
