Port Setup with no UPnP

So I'm trying to setup my multiplayer gaming for my Xbox one, I have an NVG series router, which I understand does not support UPnP. My NAT type is moderate, but I can find nothing on how to change my NAT type to open without fixing my UPnP, which my router
cannot do.

Basically, I am lost as to where to go from here and have no experience or knowledge over this type of stuff. Do I just need to change ports randomly until I find one that works, or is that not going to help anything? (not sure what a port is lol). Will
an ethernet cord running from my xbox to my extender/main router fix this?

having a moderate NAT is not the end, i have this due to the way i have setup several networks in my property, i have has zero issues using parties or online gaming, i would only worry about it if you cant connect.

Strict NAT can be an issue, come back if you get this.

guide for port forwarding. This has all the information needed. Port forwarding works in place of UPnP.

firewall is set to default

you can't do UPnP AND Port Forwarding. If you do this your connection will drop

Only one is possible in homer routers. If you know how to setup port Forwarding correctly turn off UPnP. Or Delet Port Forwarding and enable UPnP. For 1 Device only 1 thing is working.

Don't forget to restart your router if you cllearde port Forwarding or UPnP. ALWAYS restart if you change things like that
