Poor Xbox features, saving and media

Going to sound like a rant, but today I lost 2 weeks / 70 hours or so of gaming because of Xbox limited save options / recoving features. I was playing the Witcher 3 and earlier today I ran into an "out of space to save" issue, seems my saves hit 1gb and instead of the system sensibly working out how to manage this it gave me this crude error. I thought that while I'm in the game I could manage the saves from the main menu and go back into the game to make a "first" save. So I went to the menu, deleted the saves and went back into the game, of course the Xbox series X DIDN'T keep my current position in the game and simply restarted the game, which initially scared me but when in the loading screen it still showed my saves, so I loaded one and it then allowed me to save normally, thought great, solved the issue. Carried on playing with saving automatically and making manual saves, decided to turn off after a few hours. When I turned the xbox on later and loaded the witcher 3 ALL my saves, the ones before the delete AND after were all gone, it was like the xbox decided to not delete when I told it to and delayed it, but also deleted everything AFTER as well.

Unlike a decent system there seems to be absolutely no way to recover deleted saves, recovering deleted data is a basic model of any system and Xbox seems to be seriously backwards in this concept, it just doesn't seem to work properly, from creating saves, managing saves (limited delete all or nothing options), recovery, media captures are also extremely poor laggy, slow and short compared to the likes of the ps4 capture system.

Like I said initially, but of a rant, but I'm majorly angry at how awful the save management has been with this experience and MS also seemingly offer ZERO support options and would rather the community do their dirty work for them, seriously considering the ps5 now or going back to PC, really want to like the series X but the shortcomings have really pushed me over the edge now.

I don't think you realize the issue

Cloud saves are limited not local saves

The same can be said for ps4/5

Thrtre I'd no service that doesn't limit cloud saves

This includes pc

Just cut down on the save files

Keep in mind each save is mbs not kbs

Even on ps4/5 Yes I had ps4 and currently have 5

The game saves are 500mbs each this includes popular games like the last of us dragonquest builders etc

Yiu are talking equipment skills etc in some instances buildings

You arent just talking about simple text files

Save management should be automatic OR allow you to manage it properly, cloud storage is just a fraction of the issue I mentioned... The storage limit wouldn't be an issue if it managed the saves properly or allowed you to manage them yourself

I thought we had unlimited online storage with gold on the one, for media and save games ? I appreciate your poor bandwidth makes this not possible but it should not cost you anything

Jetstarbaby, you can use any Photo from a USB Storage/ Media Sharing or Media Disc as a Background on the Xbox 360. Simply View a Photo and the "Y" Button will appear for "Use as background". It is an Authorized Function and Feature
of the Xbox 360 and will not get anyone Banned or Suspended.

I've been using my own Photos for years as the purchased Themes are simply very poor from every Dashboard after the original Blades Dashboard.

There is at the very least the "PlayTo" feature from Windows Media Player to throw media to your Xbox One, but it can't run in the background. Hopefully a feature like the 360 had will be implemented soon.
