Poor communication and implementation of Digital download

So at 12am eastern 11/3 time I was ready to play the game. I had purchased the digital download on Friday and the game was fully downloaded before 12am 11/3. At 12am it said installing. It was slow and before I had to go to work it said 24% completed
and I could start it up. I did not have time because this was at 7:00am and I had to be a work by 8:00am today.

Here is where the communication breakdown and implementation was not done correctly. First I work in IT and I understand how software is deployed. I do it at my current job.

1.) The staging process makes sense since you have to download the software to the hard drives. The confusion is the software is not installed. Just copied to your local hard rive.

2.) At 12am 11/3 the software is made available. There should be a correction. The software is available for install at 12am. How long does it take to install is cutting into the zero day double xp time.

3.) What updates are needed to complete the install. I did not verify if updates were needed but; that would have been part of the original download for digital. People that purchase disk will probably see the updates.

In summary my complaint is really a bad job of communicating how the digital was getting rolled out and also the amount of time that this will cut into zero day, double xp playing time.

So special editions on preorder digitally finally comes to Xbox. It's great to see Microsoft finally implement this with Xbox One. Many times the only reason for buying a game physically was because it's special edition was just too enticing.

I hope they implement pre download for digitally preordered game as well. That I think could really boost preorder digital sales.

 

Stuck at Checking downloadable content

It's the recent game update...delete the system cache and you should be able to play offline, but you have to disconnect from the internet/XBL or else it try to re-download the update

You can thank EA for their terrible server implementation and BioWare for their poor programming as the reason you can't play multiplayer in a game you paid for...
