    I contacted Microsoft Xbox support to redeem points I have been building on for years, and update my accounts email. Prior to today, I was told by your team these points had value, and about what I would need to accumulate in order to purchase a game with
    them. I now have 35k in points, and that's the trigger I set to redeem them. I waited to build enough of them up to use, and now I see that the system changed and I'm confused. The agent I spoke to today told me I was not able to chat with the new points team,
    as I was with him, but to contact the rewards team over twitter. I don't use twitter anymore or see how a public chat makes sense, so this is all the more confusing. I was told posting publicly is my only option. I spend over a 1000 bucks a year with this
    company and just want to speak to someone, on chat or the phone, about how I can redeem points I've been building on for over five years.

    Please let me know how we can set up time to discuss how I might redeem my points in accordance to what was explained to me by Microsoft a few years back. I trust you value me as a customer, and thank you in advance for helping me sort this out quickly.

    Ok first off this is real as opposed to the bs on YouTube etc.
    Last week i went to play Halo 2 (Master Chief collection) on my sons xbox one, his profile was already signed in so i changed to my profile which was migrated from my xbox 360. It asked if i wanted to sync the profile and i said no.

    I then thought about it and realized i did want to sync the profile so i could see my gamer points, but i couldnt find the option to do it retrospectively, so i changed to his profile briefly and back to mine. He signed in on his profile to play co-op and upon starting the game (which i have never played) i was awarded all of his gamer points and achievements for Halo 2, it actually took a few minutes as it systematically awarded me the achievements.

    I am wondering if anybody else has seen this?

    What points do you mean?

    If you mean Gamerscore/achievements then you have never been able to redeem them for a game or anything else.

    Your Gamerscore is just for bragging rights & a bit of fun.

    You used to get a small reward depending on your Gamerscore if you were signed up to the xbox rewards program but that is no longer available.

    Hi there,

    if you are talking about your Gamerscore which I noticed just past 35000 then they are not exchangeable for anything.

    It's just a representation of the Achievements and their points you have earned they don't really have a value in relation to purchasing a game or DLC etc.

    Hello,

    If you are talking about GamerScore that can be seen on your profile these can't be spent. GamerScore is for your Achivements and overall Game Accomplishments.

    But if your talking about Microsoft Rewards points you can redeem them over at https://account.microsoft.com/rewards/

    I feel lied to. You changed your policy without making it an obvious change to your users. Your agent told me they could be redeemed a few years back, so i saved them up until they had enough value to purchase something.

    I now have 35000 points, I asked to redeem them and learned that you changed the policy.

    I spend a lot with you guys, I don't like being lied to. I feel like I have been scammed and your word is worth nothing.

    If you would like to keep me as a customer, spending over a 1000 USD this year for example, i need you to make an exception and provide a code I can use to pull some value from the points i was told by your team would have value. I feel lied to.

    Just saying, oh well that's no longer the case is not an ethical practice. I only ask you treat me with respect and don't scam me. I feel scammed. I am not a happy customer that's been extremely loyal, I only ask you make this right and not send me to
    a bot or a public forum and actually take the time to engage with me.

    Unfortunately there was never a policy change as that is something that has never been a feature of gamerscore. The support agent you spoke to gave you incorrect information. They may have thought you were referring to Rewards points which are different
    and have gone through changes over the years, but are not the same as gamerscore. Or Microsoft points which could have been purchased and redeemed for items prior to 2013. You can try contacting them again to see if there is anything they can do to provide
    any sort of compensation, but we are fellow gamers here.

    Please clarify if you are referring to the gamerscore, or bing/Microsoft rewards points.

    gamerscore is earned by unlocking achievments in games, and can not be redeemed for anything, it is purely a representational figure

    bing/Microsoft rewards points are earned by searching on bing, doing quizes, completing punch cards, etc and can be redeemed for a range of things: https://account.microsoft.com/rewards/

    As mentioned earlier by our ambassadors, if you're
    referring to the gamer score points that show on your Xbox Profile that number is the score of all your game accomplishments and unfortunately isn't
    redeemable for anything.

    The gamer score hasn't been something that was able to get redeemed for anything else.

    If anything we do have a program that you could join it's called
    Microsoft Rewards; this program you can sign up for free and start earning rewards by searching
    things, shopping or playing.

    If you're referring to Microsoft Rewards points, you would want to check the gift card you're wanting to redeem and it will show you how many points you need. https://account.microsoft.com/rewards/redeem/all
    The points themselves do not have a monetary value.

    You'll have to wait until the new subscription starts on 4/6. The points should show as pending up to 96 hours after that. Then they will be added to your account around May 15.
