You can earn Xbox Live Rewards Credit in two ways:

1. By finishing the offers located on the MyMissions page at https://rewards.xbox.com/mymissions/ .

-or-

2. For non-offer purchases, you can earn Credits by earning a one star MyVIP level through purchasing at least $300 USD or regional equivalent of eligible content. After you receive your first star you will begin to earn a percentage of your eligible purchases
back as payback Rewards Credit. Pre-orders, in-game consumables, and subscriptions are not eligible for MyVIP.

In September 2014 we changed to the MyVIP policy. As a result, payback based off Gamerscore (MyAchievements) was discontinued. Also, as of July 2014, we do not award Credits for Xbox Live Gold renewals. The Credits for playtime in Games with Gold was similarly
discontinued. In September 2015, we made some refinements to the program. One change that happened was an adjustment of MyVIP purchase thresholds. If you did not reach any MyVIP ranks with your purchases from September 2014-August 31st 2015, you were placed
at a default rank. Since you were a zero star member, you did not get payback Credits on your purchases until last month, when you were promoted. That payback is now pending in your account. You can check your current MyVIP level/progress at (https://rewards.xbox.com/myrewards/).

Regarding your past deposit, as Smwutches says, we do not have control over Microsoft Account activity. You would have to reach out to Xbox support for assistance. However, promotional Credits only have a lifetime of one year, so if you have not yet spent
that currency, it would have expired at this point (it was deposited in March 2015).

As of July 1, 2014, there are no offers to receive credits for renewing gold. As of May 1, 2016, there are no offers to receive credits for playing Games with Gold games.

In order to receive credits, your purchases either have to be eligible for a specific offer on the site at the time, or you need at least 1 star level in order to receive VIP rebates. All offers for earning credits are listed on the Missions page of the
Rewards site.

If the Rewards site shows you've had a deposit, you can verify deposits at
http://commerce.microsoft.com and also see any transactions that would have already used those funds. Once credits are deposited, the Rewards program no longer has access to those funds, so if you are having issues with your balance, you would need to contact
Xbox support and speak to billing. 1-800-4my-xbox if you're in the US/Canada or http://support.xbox.com/contact-us

and other problem, i had no use any of these points and it showns a 1250 point deposit but i hae no funds ons my acc. i want then back plz

As I said in my first post, I've already changed my password and followed all recommended security protocols, and I'll be calling the uk support number in around 8 hours time when it opens.

I've just checked all my billing details to see if my credit card details had been compromised too, but luckily the card linked to my profile has expired. I was also able to see how my msp were used too (my initial estimate of "just under 4000msp" was a
little off as my last actual balance was 3140msp) - here's a copy of the unauthorised purchases:
