No, you do not lose anything. Just do not delete the account. Make sure you switch it over.

Quick and simple as long as the account you are trying to switch it over to is not already a Microsoft (MS) account, either server (outlook, Hotmail, live, msn) or through another email company like Google, yahoo, ISP.

All you have to do is sign into his account at account.live.com/addassocid and verify the account ownership

This will bring you to a page with two options.

1. Create a new MS (outlook) email account

2. Use an existing NON MS server email and it can not be used with MS anywhere else like Google, yahoo, ISP

If you choose option 1 it will add the email to the account and you can use that to sign into the account with immediately.

If you choose option 2 it will send a verification email to that email address to verify that you do have access to that email before adding it to the account,

Keep a couple things in mind

1. The only thing this is doing is adding an email to the account that can be used to sign into the account all other things Emails to verify the account, phone numbers, payment options will still be attached to the account until updated.

2. If your fathers email address is a MS server email (see above) and you remove his email from the account it will be gone forever and would not be able to get it back so if your father still uses that email for some reason you will not want to remove it
from the account.

But basically To answer your question about whether or not you will lose any purchases including subscriptions by changing the email address on the account the simple answer is no you will not.

Hi, it could be an issue with microsoft's servers. these things happen from time to time. You could try restarting your internet equipment, and your xbox, see if that helps. If it doesn't, then waiting until it's downloaded will be your only option.

Is this in reference to the non-depositing of Rewards points, and the emails saying that our 'accounts need updating'?

If so, how did you go about 'confirming' your email address?
