Please Help My ATROCIOUS Mic Issues

Hi there,

I have been having some issues with my mic when joining Xbox parties, and it is becoming very frustrating so I'm hoping someone can help. I'll provide some context to the situation, so please bear with me.

So I am on PC running Windows 10 and using the Xbox App to communicate with friends while we play Ark: Survival Evolved. Initially I was using a cheap pair of earbuds with a built-in mic to chat in the party, and it worked for awhile. Suddenly it stopped working, and I tried all of the basic troubleshooting methods suggested in Microsoft forums; updating drivers, checking audio settings, enabling Xbox mic permissions, restarting my computer, updating it, etc, etc. Nothing worked, and so I eventually figured it was my cheap earbuds and the mic just couldn't be recognized by my computer/the Xbox app for some reason. So, I went and bought a gaming headset: Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless Gaming Headset. The first time I used these, my problem was fixed immediately and I could game in peace... for several weeks. Now since yesterday, I can join an Xbox party but my icon remains grayed out and permanently muted, (I can't click it to unmute) so I can't speak but I can hear my party members talking. I haven't changed any settings or anything since I got the new headset, so I have no clue what would cause it to stop working so suddenly.

I went through all the troubleshooting steps again with still no success, and then I came across an article talking about Teredo in the Xbox Networking Settings. I was getting the "Teredo is unable to qualify" error and I thought that was causing my issues with not being able to talk to my party members. BUT, I went through all the steps to fix the Teredo error, it now reads "Open" and I still cannot talk on my party. I feel like I've tried everything and I really need to get this working. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately, I already gave this a try (and I tried again just in case) but it is still not resolving my problem. Any other suggestions?

I had not tried these steps yet, so I was hopeful. But after going through everything step-by-step, still no luck. The only direction I couldn't follow was uninstalling Game Bar, as the "Uninstall" button was greyed out, so I guess it's permanently on my PC. I'm wondering if this method would have worked if I could have uninstalled Game Bar.

If you know of another way to remove Game Bar or any other suggestions, please let me know. Thank you!

Dang, that's really my only remaining option? Seems like a huge ordeal for my mic simply not working with Xbox. What if that doesn't work? Am I just screwed?

Hi there Neomorph welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. Have you tried reinstalling your audio input drivers?

Here’s how to reinstall audio input drivers in Windows 10:

Right-click Start and open Device Manager.

Expand the Audio inputs and outputs section.

Right-click on every entry, respectively, and uninstall the device.

Reboot your PC and make sure the mic is plugged in.

Wait until the driver is installed and give the Xbox app another try.
