No. You can use the One version on the Series S/X. It just won't look as good as the Series S/X version.

As for #2, that's all on your monitor and cabling. Once the Xbox is off, there isn't anything that should be interfering.

Update:

1) Disk drive works, turns out i was putting the cd in with the top facing to the right (same way i put it in my xbox one s) and the correct way for the series x is pointing left. Should have noticed it earlier but i was silly

2) As for the monitor, no idea what caused it but i'll stay on the weaker monitor since that one isnt crashing with the series x plugs in.

It looks like you've purchased the Series S|X edition, which is for new generation consoles (Series S and Series X) and wouldn't be compatible with your Xbox One S.
