Nope I get "Contact the seller to get a code that works in your region. This code was purchased in a different region and cannot be redeemed."

If your friend purchased the game and they are not in the same region as you, your friend will have to request a refund, provided it's within 14 days of the original purchase.

Digital purchases can only be redeemed in the same country as the user that purchased it. To see the terms can conditions you can visit:

I purchase from the Argentina region and I have that set on my console but the mobile app /Desktop set to US by default

I successfully changed the region on the desktop app but still got

Your friend will have to get a refund or gift the code to a friend in the same region. It does state whilst purchasing that gifting only works in the same region.
